NZD/USD trims gains, falls toward 0.8700

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The NZD/USD pulled back further from 6-week highs and erased most of daily gains. Earlier on European hours rose to 0.8747, level not seen since May 6 but then lost momentum.

After peaking the pair started to move with a downside bias, and accelerated after Wall Street opening bell as the US dollar gained momentum versus the Kiwi and the Aussie. Currently trades at 0.8706, up 0.09%, rebounding after falling to 0.8699.

NZD/USD technical levels

To the downside immediate support might be located at 0.8695/0.8700 (daily lows) followed by 0.8680 (June 20 low). To the upside immediate resistance now lies at 0.8725/30 (intraday level) and then 0.8745/50 (daily high).

Oil price should give up most of its recent gains in the weeks ahead - Commerzbank

Carsten Fritsch, analyst at Commerzbank recently commented that recent oil prices rise due to Iraq concerns is likely to be only to be a temporary phenomenon.
