US stocks close around lows of the day

FXStreet (San Francisco) - Wall Street closed sharply negative on Tuesday as investors' confidence was hurt by tensions in Ukraine and a set of weaker than expected earning reports.

The S&P 500 performed its worst day in nearly a month while the DJIA posted 3-digit decline.

The Dow Jones lost 129.53 points or 0.78% to finish the day at 16,401.02; while the S&P 500 declined 16.94 pts or 0.90% to 1,867.72 and the Nasdaq Composite erased 57.30 pts or 1.38% to close the session at 4,080.76.

AUD/NZD finds support at 1.0650

The AUD/NZD managed to recover in the last hours, erased losses and currently trades at 1.0687, around the same price it had at the beginning of the day ahead of the release of important economic data from New Zealand.
