Italy’s ruling centre-left Democratic Party admits defeat - The Guardian

The Guardian is now reporting Michele Martina, a minister in the outgoing government, as saying, “This is a very clear defeat for us.” 

“We are expecting a result below our expectations... This is very clearly a negative result for us,” he added.

The official results are not expected to be out soon, but projections point to a hung parliament, with the single party predicted to secure the most votes is the 5-Star Movement.
