Japanese corporate survey: Majority see no end to deflation - RTRS

According to the results of the latest Reuters survey of Japan’s companies surveyed, almost three-quarters of them see the country’s economic expansion to continue throughout this year.

The monthly survey for Reuters was conducted by Nikkei Research.

Reuters polled 547 big and medium-sized firms and around 240 answered the questions on growth and deflation.

Key Findings:

73 pct of Japanese firms expect economic expansion to continue throughout 2018.

Roughly half of Japan firms expect the economy to stop expanding by the middle of next year.

14 pct of Japan firms believe Japan is out of deflation, 40 pct see no decisive end to deflation for foreseeable future.

68 pct of Japan firms want Kuroda to be reappointed when his term ends in April, 32 pct oppose it.
