US: Nonfarm payrolls up a mere 74K in December

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The US economy added only 74K of jobs in December, following the November 241K increase, according to data released today by the US Department of Labor. This result is considerably below market consensus of 196K.

The Unemployment Rate dropped to 6.7% from 7%, against forecasts of remaining unchanged.
