Scammers often target traders, trying to steal your funds and personal data. While your security is our top priority, you should also be on the lookout for scams. Let's recap the rules you should follow to stay safe.

Follow the basic principles of online security

Remember the most basic rules of digital hygiene: don't open email attachments from strangers or follow unknown links in your inbox. Create a strong password—without 'qwerty', '1234', or your birth year; make it difficult to guess—then memorise or store it securely. Finally, always use only the latest versions of our apps and don't enter your profile at Octa through public Wi-Fi.

Never share your personal data with anyone

Don't give any personal information to anyone, even if they claim to represent Octa. Remember: we will never ask you to provide your profile password, email address, credit card information, or other personal details. That includes any codes you receive via email or SMS.

The only places you should enter your password are the official Octa website or mobile app—remember to double-check whether you're actually using the official one.

Always double-check the domain or application

Even if a website appears identical to Octa's official platform, it may be fraudulent. Scammers frequently create sophisticated replicas of trading platforms to deceive users into disclosing login credentials—this practice is known as phishing.

If you encounter anything suspicious, do not proceed with login attempts. Instead, contact our Customer Support team immediately to verify the platform's authenticity. To be sure, trust only the domains you can access through the official website or Octa's letters.

Only enter your credentials on platforms you recognise. Only access your account through Octa's official website or verified mobile applications. Never access your account via links found in social media, email communications, or messaging applications, regardless of their apparent legitimacy.

Our official social media pages are listed at the bottom of the main page. Please note that we don't have a WhatsApp account, so any WhatsApp group claiming to represent Octa is fake.

Process all payments only through official means

Make payments only through your secure profile on official Octa platforms. Never send money through a messaging app, social media, or third-party services.

Check the identity of Octa's partners

Octa's registered partners can contact you to share official information about the trading conditions and give you a referral link for registration. They can do it either online or locally in your region. Unfortunately, fraudsters may sometimes pretend to be IBs, too.

Please be vigilant and check Octa's partners. Request their referral ID or trading account number, contact our Customer Support team, and verify these details before following their links.

Be extra vigilant with offers via email, SMS, or phone calls

We never offer account management or personal trading advice by email, message, or phone. If anyone reaches out to help you trade, grow your balance, or manage your account on Octa's behalf, it's a scam.
